{Family} Photo Sessions

To me, the loveliest family photos are those which are caught unexpectedly. Unscripted. Natural and in the moment. My photography isn't about standing in a studio surrounded by artificial lights and saying 'cheese!' My photo sessions are informal and my ultimate aim is to capture real, happy and honest snapshots of your family being themselves.

My favourite photographs are the kind that tell a story about the people in them. It is important for me to capture a true representation of your family, and I find that the characters and natural smiles are portrayed best when they are not being forced.

This is why I favour a documentary approach with my photography, capturing events as they happen rather than lots of posed shots. An element of 'setting up' is sometimes required (not to be mistaken for posed) however I try to keep this to a minimum so I can capture your family in the most natural way possible.

Documentary Family Photo session - £80
What does this include?
  • Consultation on the phone / in person to tell me about your family and discuss what is most  important for you in our session. This is the time to talk about the location, tell me about any ideas and ‘must have’ shots or special people or items you would like included.
  • Your photo session, which will last approximately an hour and a half at a location within approximately 30 minutes drive from CB11. Usually outdoors, or in the case of tiny babies, in your home if you would prefer. It is important to choose a location somewhere you feel relaxed and you and your family can be yourselves - be it your garden, local park, favourite forest or even beach. You can choose a place that is special to you or I can suggest suitable locations according to the time of year.
  • A private online gallery from where you can view the final edited images. This selection will be anywhere between 60 - 80 photos. You can then select your favourite 30 images which you will finally receive on disc both in high resolution format for printing, and low resolution for screen use ( Ideal for Facebook ). *
  • Martha will be your photographer for the family photo sessions (George will be at home looking after our baby while I'm with you, he joins me to shoot our weddings!)

I like to keep our pricing simple, with no surprises. This is why I charge a fixed fee which includes both the photo shoot and the best 30 edited digital images from the day in both high and low resolution for you to print and share. Should you wish to purchase prints through us then you are able to do so easily online via your gallery, however you don't have to get prints through me and that is why I give you the digital images so that you can get your prints done wherever you like.

* Should you wish to obtain the entire collection of edited digital images from the shoot (60 - 80 images) this can be purchased for an additional £40.

2015 Weddings in Review

It really is such a cliche but each year we love this job more and more. Each and every wedding is so unique - we absolutely love being able to portray the couple, the story, the personalities, the families, and the emotion, all in their own individual way.

It has been so tough selecting a group of photos to round up this years weddings, but amongst other things, 2015 and our sixth year has given us; Concorde, London buses, Big Ben, a dog in a veil, a two-piece wedding gown, an historic Cambridge college setting, Michelin star cuisine, an Aston Martin, golden sunsets, a serenading groom, sparkly shoes, tartan clad page boys, stunning chandeliers, teary speeches, cakes to die for, and as always, some epic dance moves.

This year, September was our most crazy month, cramming in several back-to-back weddings, and although I can't lie and say that it was easy (particularly soldiering on through flu for the last wedding of the year!), but despite the challenges, we still love every minute.

Thank you to all of our lovely 2015 couples and wedding parties for making it another bloomin' fabulous year!
